New Studio and New Work
Open Saturday and Sunday December 10th and 11th
2-5pm
a bit about the new studio
an artist’s studio designed by local architect, Bethany Puopolo.
This simple and elegant structure features a great room with 12’ high walls, a vaulted ceiling featuring locally sourced antique beams, wonderfully large Marvin windows, white painted walls and and pine flooring.
Abby was very involved with the project and certainly put her stamp on the finished product, having provided the old iron railing for the loft, all the electrical and plumbing fixtures, and the reclaimed paneled doors and countertop. Some of the paneled doors were used to build cabinets for a break area.
Notes From Bill Norton, the builder….ROCKPILE CONSTRUCTION
When it became time to trim the studio, I approached the client with the idea of upgrading the window and door trim to custom trim I’d saved and salvaged from previous jobs and years of custom projects. One day I brought several hundred feet of various custom profiles out to the job and we paired them to each of the windows and doors. The exceptionally big windows benefited from the larger trim and once it was all painted white, the subtle differences are a pleasant surprise.
Working with clients, helping them realize their dreams, is one of the pleasures of being a contractor.
