I have no idea what is happening with the "boutique hotel" downtown
BUT I do know of a great resource for those looking for a place to stay in Charlottesville

I live near UVA and so does my brother in law, Robert.
Robert makes a fortune renting his house out for specific weekend
i.e. Graduation, Foxfield, Football Games, Basketball Games, Concerts at JPJ etc.
This is a great resource for friends and family who are coming into town for Big Events
Often times the people that stay at Roberts' house will put up a (FDS tent) and have a huge party the night before graduation

LOVE collegeweekends – 8 of my family members stayed in a beautiful house on U Circle for my wedding – there were even fluffy robes for everyone!
Well, I wouldn’t say a fortune, but College Weekends has been great.
I have had great renters and the price has been reasonable to get me to move out for the weekend.
Oh and don’t forget to buy REDD this Spring! Seriously…buy some REDD for the kids, for the hubby, for the daddy, for the granddaddy! We really need your support and we want you looking great in REDD!
Also, id you all know that we were the Lead Sponsor for Foxfield this Spring? It’s true and its gonna be a big time! come out and support us!
