Loring Woodriff, founder of Loring Woodriff Real Estate Associates
mentions ….in the S C O U T Guide book…. that Gordonsville was a favorite drive in the country.
" My favorite drive is Route 231 North and stop over for lunch and shopping in boutique rich Gordonsville," Loring Woodriff.
Boutique Rich Shopping….Come ON…..I lived in Gordonsville 12 years ago…and frankly, did not believe it could be true.
Yesterday, I took the drive.
Things have changed. Loring is right.
This town now feels more like Middleburg, Virginia rather than Gordonsville, VA.
(take a right at this sign….and head down Main Street)
Laurie Holladay Interiors
Hand Embroidered Pillows from Chile…as featured in Coastal Living.
Lampshades and Custom Lamp/Lampshades
(you will die…this is Laurie's love….an art form…a must see)
This is a custom lampshade that Laurie Created…..Velvet trim and hand painted. LOVELY.
CLOTHING BOUTIQUE
SH MERRICK
OKAY ladies…if you are looking for some super amazing clothing
SH Merrick is your place. There are so many unique pieces in this store. White Linen Galore (perfect for VA summer) and Dresses to drool over.
Crisp White Shirts…All shapes
Shoes…Great Shoes!!
SUGARBRITCHES….a children's clothing store that looks adorable too!
(unfortunatley it was closed….but I am going to go back)
I have heard that THE place to eat
is
The BBQ Exchange
""BBQ to rival anything in the area. If you find yourself in Gordonsville this place is a must stop."
POMME too….it seems to bring in the crowds!
A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon
This little town is worth the drive!
ENJOY
and….Please tell them SCOUT sent you

So I dont know the other shops, but see an outfit I must try
This I do know…..Laurie Holladay is RIGHTOUS, I love her style. Laurie is nice, helpful & fun to hang with. Can honestly say this as I have known her for years. Lamps are easy to find, amazing lamps nearly impossible. If any one can make it happen, it is Laurie, I have seen her creations.
Now Gordonsville here I come and if some one beats me to the wrappy looking dress…. may I please borrow it, please? Word has it POMME is great:)
Laurie is a lovely lady and her shop is every bit as welcoming as she; there are lamps, shades, framed prints, furniture, decorative items and gifts too numerous to mention! It is well worth the drive! Don’t overlook de Estheticienne, Gordonsville’s day spa; relax the “dutch” way with a pedicure, manicure, massage, etc.

Gordonsville is a little gem of a town! In my opinion, Laurie Holladay has THE best taste in the world! I love everything in her shop and wish I could buy it all. Her lamps are to die for – as are the wonderful pillows and paintings. I couldn’t resist one of the new Rebecca Ray tote bags (not to mention the Rebecca Ray bracelets, dog collars and key fobs). I can’t wait to see the belts Laurie was describing!
I totally agree with the other comment regarding de Estheticienne! Her facials are heavenly. So are her massages, her manicures, her pedicures . . .
